childs pastoral app

To further improve this work, Pastoral da Criança developed the Pastoral da Criança + Pregnant App which, in addition to helping our volunteers to accompany families, also has a communication module between volunteers, accompanied families, coordinators and multipliers. As a result, more people receive the best and most relevant information possible and quickly.

Anyone interested, even families without young children, can access the contents of the e-trainings and use the app in their daily lives.

The app aims to help families, in their family and community environment, in caring for their children on topics such as:

  • health,
  • nutrition,
  • education and
  • child development.

The application is completely free, works offline and everyone is invited to download and use it, according to the most suitable profile.

Toolkit in the App: e-Spirituality training in childhood

Since 2018, Pastoral da Criança has been part of the “International Consortium on Nurturing Values and Spirituality in Early Childhood for the Prevention of Violence” :

There are 21 organizations ranging from religious and civil society bases to international organizations, regional networks, UN agencies, foundations, academia and five experts.

The main objective is to foster collaboration and develop innovative, evidence-based approaches to integrating values and strengthening children's spiritual development in the early years to build peaceful societies and support children's holistic development.

In this sense, a material was produced on the subject, called Toolkit, composed of several booklets aimed at organizations, trainers, facilitators, religious leaders and families, and which is being adapted to the Brazilian reality, in particular, to the reality of families. accompanied by the Pastoral da Criança.

The activities proposed in the Toolkit contribute to working with families on the topic of spirituality . They serve as a subsidy to build an even more secure and loving relationship with the child, which can contribute to the development of their spirituality. The activities also help to create a support network among families .

The content of booklet III, focused on the family, is being transformed into e-Training , that is, in the format of educational material in our app.

It is also being adapted to the Brazilian reality, in particular, to the reality of the families accompanied by the Pastoral da Criança.

In addition to the Introduction stage, this e-Training is composed of more stages:

  • Childhood Spirituality : explains about child development and spirituality.
  • Interactions with children: 16 interactions that describe small moments that can be integrated into your home routine on a regular basis. They can be made with children from 0 to 8 years old, being adapted for children from 0 to 3 years old.
  • Activities with children: 22 activities for children from 0 to 8 years old, divided by age groups from 0 to 3, 3 to 5 and 5 to 8. All activities are designed to be done with any material you find at home.

Pastoral da Criança and Spirituality

In our religious tradition, God presents himself as a flame that burns, an impetuous wind that takes us out of our daily lives. The toolkit, when tested in the community, seemed to be inspired by this Holy Spirit: it left us burning and disheveled, both in the academic discussion (which is innate, which is the result of opportunities offered to children, especially conviviality). how much mothers cry when they come into contact with the dynamics . One of them, when carrying out the activity "Tree of me", which mainly aims to develop self-awareness, understand who we are, where we came from and how we aspire to be, started crying before finishing. The child went to the mother's lap and cried along with her. She shared the unfinished tree and said that her tree had no support, it had no roots (her husband is an alcoholic and when he gets home he breaks everything, fights with his eleven-year-old eldest son, mistreats his wife and five-year-old daughter).

This shows us that we have an area to be discovered in supporting families... in these situations, we improve ourselves as an organization to contribute, more and more, so that families and communities carry out their own transformation .
